Monoclonal antibodies were produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse
myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, E. coli-derived,
recombinant human IL-1 beta.

ELISA: |
A 1:10,000 dilution of a 1mg/ml antibody solution will give satisfactory results in a direct ELISA
using a rabbit anti-mouse second antibody conjugated to alkaline phosphatase (Jackson Labs).

Neutralization: |
To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50]
of the biological activity of h-IL-1b (10 μg/ml),
a concentration of 4-8 μg/ml of this antibody is required.
