Recombinant Human Interleukin-12 (p40)

Description :

Interleukin-12 is a disulfide-linked heterodimeric protein (p70), composed of two subunits, p35 and p40, which are encoded by two different genes. Accumulating data indicate that p40 secretion precedes that of IL-12 expression. In addition, to its ability to covalently bind to p35 to form IL-12, p40 can bind to p19 to form IL-23. Recombinant human IL-12 p40 is a 40 kDa protein containing 306 amino acid residues.

Catalog #:

001-HIL12P40

Source :

CHO cells (Chinese Hamster Ovarian cells)

Formulation :

Sterile filtered and then the protein was lyophilized in 1 x PBS pH 6.8.

Stability :

The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -800C. Reconstituted IL-12 p40 should be stored in working aliquots at -800C.

Purity :

Greater than 97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per μg (1EU/μg).

Reconstitution :

We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in 200 ul of sterile water for injection for 0.5 mg/ml concentration . This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 40C for 3 months or below -100C for future use.

Biological Activity :

Human IL-12 p40 has no IL-12 (p70) antagonist activity.
