Description : |
Tumor Necrosis Factor-beta (TNF-beta ; also known as: Lymphotoxin-alpha) is a potent lymphoid factor, which exerts cytotoxic effects on a wide range of tumor cells and certain other target cells. Human TNF-beta is an 18.6 kDa protein containing 172 amino acid residues. Due to glycosylation, TNF-beta has an approximate molecular weight of 19.3 kDa based on SDS-PAGE gel and Mass Spectrometry.

Formulation : |
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 10mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.0 + 50mM NaCl. |
Stability : |
The lyophilized powder is stable for a few weeks at room temperature,
but best stored at -200C.
Reconstituted TNF-beta should be stored in working aliquots at -200C. |
Purity : |
Greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per μg (1EU/μg).
|
Reconstitution : |
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in water to a
concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted
into other aqueous buffers and stored at 40C for 1 week or -200C for future use. |
Biological Activity : |
The ED50 as determined by the cytolysis of murine L929 cells in the presence of Actinomycin-D is
< 0.05 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 2 x 107 units/mg.
